A project combining Pyro simulations and a live action backplate using both Houdini and Nuke. I wanted to try making some of those big explosions that are common in most action movies. This project was setup and rendered in Solaris with Karma CPU. Then in Nuke I combined the backplate with the shadows, diffuse, emission passes of the explosions, added some glow and a few other tweaks. In the end, I learned a lot about using Solaris and the proccess of adding Houdini VFX onto a backplate in Nuke.
